ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants whose first language is not English must fulfil the following English language requirements, unless stated otherwise under their specific country’s section:

International Foundation Programme: IELTS 5.5 (min 5.0)

Most Art & Design Programmes: IELTS 6.0 (min 5.5)

Architecture and some PG Programmes: IELTS 6.5 (min 5.5)

Please note that for UKVI purposes you must take the IELTS for UKVI (Academic) at a recognised centre.

PORTFOLIOS

Most programmes require applicants to apply with a portfolio of work, without which the application will be considered incomplete.

IRAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have successfully completed their 3 year high school diploma (with an average of 14/B or above. One failure is allowed as long as it is above 0 and 2 failures are allowed as long as they are above 0 and the overall average is over 14). Students with a high school diploma with lower grades and a Pre-University Certificate with a GPA of 12/20 can also be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – For students who have a relevant Licence/Karshenasi with good grades ie – average of 12 or above, with all marks 10 or above, or As,Bs or Cs, or GPA 2.7+

IRAQ

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need 75% or above in the 6th form Baccalaureat (Adadiyah)

Postgraduate Applicants – Students would normally need a Masters degree from Iraq with 60% +

ISRAEL

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with a minimum score 6 (overall) in the Bagrut can be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students will usually need over 75, or B in their undergraduate degree

JORDON

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with over 80% in the Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate) or a community college certificate/diploma with over 60% may be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with a bachelors degree with Good/2.7/65%/C+ or above can be considered

KUWAIT

Undergraduate Applicants – 70% (Grade C) or above in the Shahadat-al-thanawia-al-a’ama (General Secondary School Certificate)

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need exceptionally high grades in their bachelors  A, A-, B+.

LEBANON

Undergraduate Applicants – Baccalauréat Général II of at least 12 or above.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have completed a Licence from Prestigious Institutions with 80% or above, A or B, 2.7+can be considered.

OMAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have passed the Thannawiya Ama with at least 80% and whose application is strong may exceptionally be made an offer.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need an upper second or a CGPA of at least 2.7.

QATAR

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need to pass Thanawaya Al Aa’ ma Qatari (General Secondary Education Certificate) with 75% or year 1 of a bachelors degree from the University of Qatar.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students should have passed a 4 year degree with a CGPA of 3.0 or C or above

SAUDI ARABIA

Undergraduate Applicants – 75% or above in Tawjihiyah plus good application

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with good grades in a Bachelors degree can be considered.

SYRIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with over 180 in the Thanawiya should be acceptable.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have a Licence/Bachelors, over 4 years or longer, with over 70%, (jayed jeddar – very good; momtaz – excellent; martabet al Sharaf – honours) can be considered

UAE

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must complete the Tawjihiyya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) with a minimum of 70% average.

Postgraduate Applicants – A CGPA of 2.7+ from a recognised University and should have completed a minimum of 132 credit hours in their degree.
